Introducing the August Theme 🌲

Introducing the August Theme 🌲

Growing up in the city, summer heat meant concrete heat. Pavement and buildings trap it, so by afternoon you're just exhausted. The forest was the escape I always looked forward to. You'd walk in and immediately feel how much cooler and quieter it was.

Growing up, we'd escape to Nagano. It's known for snow, but the mossy forests there are just as special, almost like walking into a Miyazaki film. The moment you stepped out of the car, you could feel the air turn cold. After hours of muggy heat, that first breath was such a relief. I didn't have a word for it back then, just that stepping into the trees changed everything. Now I know it as shinrin-yoku, forest bathing, and it turns out there's a whole practice built around exactly that feeling. By the time we got back in the car, we were all in a better mood, ready for the rest of the trip instead of just trying to get through the heat.

That's the feeling I wanted this month's box to hold. We're calling it Paper Trails: Letters from the Forest, inspired by quiet forests, handwritten letters, and the treasures found along the way. Some of life's most meaningful discoveries aren't destinations. They're the little things we collect as we wander.

This month's collection celebrates the beauty of slowing down: wandering somewhere new, writing thoughtful letters, and noticing the small moments that often go overlooked along the way. It's filled with travel and exploration-themed stickers, mini wooden alphabet stamps for decorating your pages, cozy shades of green, and thoughtfully crafted paper goods, and it invites you to gather memories the way you might collect little souvenirs from a trip, one meaningful piece at a time.

Whether you're documenting a weekend adventure, sending a handwritten note, or simply reflecting on an ordinary afternoon, every item was chosen to help you preserve the moments that become your own paper trails.

I'll be saving what's inside for next week's newsletter. For now, I just wanted to share where this one came from, and the feeling I'm hoping it carries when it lands on your doorstep.

Thanks for reading.

I hope this one gives you a small escape from the heat, even if just for a few minutes.

Where's your version of stepping into the shade? Hit reply and tell me.
