1. How the Subscription Works
How does the Paper Bento subscription work?
Paper Bento is a monthly stationery subscription delivered once per month for the length of time you choose.
When you sign up, you select a commitment length (Monthly, 3-Month, or 6-Month). You’ll receive one box each month during your commitment period.
Each box is thoughtfully curated with Japanese stationery items designed to support reflection, journaling, and slow moments in your day.
What do I receive?
You’ll receive one Paper Bento box each month, featuring a curated selection of Japanese stationery items. Each box follows a monthly theme and includes items chosen to inspire writing, reflection, and everyday rituals.
When does my first box ship?
Your first box will be the current month’s box if you subscribe before the monthly cutoff date.
- Orders placed before the cutoff → receive the upcoming box
- Orders placed after the cutoff → start with the following month’s box

When do boxes ship?
Paper Bento boxes typically ship once per month, during the second half of the month.
You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking when your box is on its way.

Will I know what I’m getting?
Each month, we share a preview of the current box on the website so you have a general idea of the theme and featured items.

Are items the same every month?
No — each box is unique. While some categories/popular products may repeat (pens, paper goods, tools), the combination of items will change every month.

All plans include one box shipped each month during your selected commitment period.
When will I be charged?
You will be charged monthly, not upfront.
- Your first payment is charged at checkout.
- Subsequent payments are charged once per month until your commitment is complete.
- Charges occur on the same date each month based on your original sign-up date.
When will my box ship?
Boxes ship once per month.
- Orders placed during the month apply to the current month’s box, as long as sign-ups are still open.
- Shipping windows and cutoff dates will be shared on the product page and via email.
Can I cancel, pause, or skip a month?
At this time, subscriptions cannot be paused, skipped, or canceled once started.
By signing up, you are committing to the full length of the plan you selected (Monthly, 3-Month, or 6-Month). Please choose your plan carefully before checkout.
Does my subscription automatically renew?
No. Your subscription does not automatically renew at the end of your commitment period.
If you’d like to continue receiving Paper Bento after your plan ends, you’ll simply place a new order for the next subscription period.
4. Shipping & Payments
Where do you ship?
Currently, Paper Bento ships within the United States. International shipping may be offered in the future.
How much is shipping?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and may vary by location.
What if my payment fails?
If a payment fails, you’ll receive an email with instructions to update your payment method. Your subscription will resume once payment is successfully processed.

How do I manage my subscription?
Once subscribed, you can log into your account to:
- View upcoming charges
- Update payment information
- Manage your subscription
What if I have an issue with my box?
If something arrives damaged or incorrect, please reach out within 7 days of delivery and we’ll do our best to help.
