Cancellation policy

We want you to have a great experience with your Paper Bento subscription. This policy outlines how cancellations work for each of our subscription options.
Subscription Options
Monthly Subscription ($43/month)
- Auto-renews monthly on the 5th of each month
- Cancel anytime by emailing us at least 14 days before the 5th of the month
- Example: To cancel your March 5th billing, email us by February 19th
- No cancellation fees
6-Month Prepaid Subscription ($240 total)
- Pay upfront for 6 months of service for $40/month.
- Cancel anytime by emailing us at least 14 days before the 5th of the month
- Receive 80% refund on unused months
- Example: If you cancel after 1 month, you have 5 months remaining ($200 value). You'll receive $160 as a refund (80% of $200)
Why We Keep 20% on 6-Month Cancellations
The 6-month subscription offers a discounted rate to reward commitment to our community. When you prepay for 6 months, we allocate inventory and plan our operations based on your subscription.
If you cancel early, the 20% we retain reflects that:
- We've reserved your subscription spot in our inventory planning
- You've already benefited from the discounted rate for the months you've used
We believe this approach is fair—you still receive the majority of your prepayment back, and we can maintain sustainable operations for our community.
How to Cancel
For All Subscriptions:
- Email us at hello@paperbento.store at least 14 days before the 5th of the month
- Include your name and subscription details in your email
- We'll confirm receipt of your cancellation request within 2 business days
Monthly Subscriptions:
Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period. You'll continue to receive your box for the month you've already paid for.
6-Month Prepaid Subscriptions:
We'll process your refund within 7-10 business days. Your refund will be 80% of the value of your unused months, issued to your original payment method.
Important Billing Information
- All subscriptions bill on the 5th of each month
- Cancellation requests must be received at least 14 days before the 5th
- Example timeline: Email by February 19th to cancel your March 5th billing
Coming Back
We hope to see you again! Whether life got busy, circumstances changed, or you just needed a break—you're always welcome to rejoin our community. There are no penalties or restrictions for returning subscribers.
