Why I picked these pieces for the June Box
Share
Last newsletter I wrote about the feeling behind the June box. That afternoon from when I was nine, my friend's mother opening a cabinet full of beautiful teacups, the two of us sitting with warm cups in our hands and nowhere to be.
Today I want to walk you through the pieces themselves and why each one made it into the box.
If you have been around for a while, you know I like to share the thinking behind every item. I hope this feels less like a reveal and more like a continuation of a conversation we have been building.
Anterique Stationers Mini Ballpoint Pen 0.5mm

The size is genuinely compact — small enough to slide into a planner loop or jacket pocket, which I love for quick thoughts throughout the day. The Anterique pens were inspired by the 1960s design but uses modern low-viscosity ink, which means it writes smoothly and vibrantly without skipping. Each box includes one pen in either Sage Green × Ecru Beige or Pearl Grey × Clear.
Hightide Brush Writer Pen

A flexible brush-tip pen that adds warmth and bold movement to pages. I included this because it's the kind of pen that makes journaling feel more personal without requiring any special technique. Whether you're writing a heading, adding a small doodle, or highlighting a quote you want to remember, the brush tip responds to how much pressure you use. Each box includes one pen in colors: Black, Yellow, or Green.
WACCA Japanese Tea Paper

This one is special. These are reversible washi sheets blended with real Japanese tea leaves, and they carry a faint, calming green tea scent. They're made in Mino City, Gifu, using recycled paper from within the factory. I chose them because they feel beautiful to work with, layering into collage spreads or wrapping small gifts, and because the scent is genuinely soothing to have on your desk while you write.
Hightide Planner Sticker — Food Series

Small café-themed stickers designed to layer into weekly spreads and journal entries without taking over the layout. Their size is what makes them work so well. They're easy to tuck beside a date, a task, or a small doodle. The illustrations are warm and cozy in a way that feels right for a tea-inspired month.
Cozyca Mariko Fukuda Tea Time Postcard Note

Mariko Fukuda's illustrations feel like they were made for this theme. This is a notepad of actual postcards, each one a different design featuring quiet, nostalgic tea-time scenes. Tear one off and send it to a friend. That's really the whole idea. If there's someone you've been meaning to reach out to, this is a gentle nudge to actually do it.
KODOMO NO KAO Bullet Journal Stamp 4P Set

A set of four reusable mini stamps you can use with your favorite ink to create habit trackers, decorate weekly layouts, or just add small playful details to your pages. I included this because it makes journaling feel approachable and fun, while no artistic skills required. Sometimes, the easiest thing can also be the most satisfying.
This box came together around a simple idea: that some of the most nourishing moments in life happen in small, unhurried pockets of time. A cup of tea. A quiet afternoon. A postcard left on someone's desk.
I hope these pieces find their way into yours.

Once again, thanks for reading and connecting with us on our curation.
One question before you go: is there someone you've been meaning to catch up with? Sometimes just sending a small note is enough to get the afternoon started.
I hope something in this box gives you an excuse to slow down, even just for an afternoon.
Warmly,
Paper Bento
